Infant Resuscitator - Infant Ambu Bag (Reusable)

Reusable Silicone Infant Resuscitator Ergonomic bag design secures optimal user handling and support during extended ventilation. Infant resuscitation is a common procedure in hospitals and clinics from Africa to Asia to Latin America. The Ambu brand is unparalleled.

  • Neonate with neonate pressure limiting valve
  • Made of silicone rubber, 100% latex free
  • Autoclavable device

THE PROBLEM

Asphyxia, or deficient supply of oxygen due to abnormal breathing, is one of the leading causes of neonatal mortality and is a frequent result of complicated births. Some causes of decreased oxygen during birth include inadequate relaxation of the uterus during labor that prevents oxygen circulation to the placenta, placental abruption, and compression of the umbilical cord. After birth, severe anemia, low blood pressure, shock, and respiratory problems can also cause asphyxia. When an infant is born with compromised breathing, the need for oxygen is immediate, whether the birth is in the field, a clinic or a hospital. However, even without oxygen supply, a repeatable, manual, low-cost method can be used to resuscitate or restart breathing.

THE SOLUTION

A manual resuscitator is often called a 'bag and mask' or bag-valve-mask (BVM). Invented in the 1950s in Germany, Ambu stands for ' Artificial Manual Breathing Unit," the world's first self-inflating resuscitator. The infant Ambu bag’s ergonomic design secures optimal user handling and support during extended ventilation. The infant Ambu bag has superior surface and grip properties. The hand strap ensures a good grip, which helps to reduce fatigue during manual ventilation, and is also easy to use by those with small hands.

  • The patient valve with swivel enables free positioning of the bag without removing the mask from the patient.
  • Ambu Oval Silicone Resuscitator is easy to disassemble. An effective procedure for cleaning and sterilization can be used. It can be autoclaved at 134°C.
  • Optimal user handling and support during extended ventilation.

The Ambu disposable bag is made of SEBS (Styrene Ethylene Butylene Styrene), a plastic considered safer than PVC. The reusable version is made of silicone rubber, 100% latex free.
