CELOX™ is a gauze that is covered with Chitosan from shellfish (can be used even with shellfish allergy) used to treat postpartum hemorrhage. It creates a robust gel plug that seals the bleeding site, working independently of the clotting mechanism. It’s effective in patients on blood thinners and with conditions such as hypothermia.
With its easy-to-use design for uterine packing during atonic postpartum bleeding, Celox PPH has minimal training requirements and is highly effective. Next to its rapid hemostasis, it also has antibacterial properties that prevent infection of the uterus.
It's safe and clinically effective, supported by a range of peer-reviewed published clinical papers.
The external gauze of CELOX™ has successfully been used for trauma and emergency management in military contexts for over 17 years. The intrauterine use was CE marked in September 2022 following numerous successful studies and 10 years of Celox PPH use in Charitè Germany.
