Philips
The Philips' Breath Counter is a device used to measure the number of breaths taken by a patient in one minute in order to diagnose for pneumonia. To use the device, a button is pressed to start the time and the counter registers each breath taken for one minute. The count result is recorded and the second and third tests are automatically set up. An LCD screen displays all three test results for easy comparison. The device is powered by solar cells and has a lifespan of potentially more than five years. The counter, which can be worn around the neck, comes with a manual with clear images. We do not have any data suggesting that this is being commercialized yet. It is a kind of updated version of Bang's breath abacus.. wonder which performs better in trials!
