April 2012 WE CARE Solar is seeking Solar Suitcase Ambassadors who willl be trained for 6 weeks in how to set up the systems. The organization has installed solar power systems in Liberia, Nigeria, Uganda and Sierra Leone.

April 2009 update:

The installation at Kofan Gayan General Hospital in Zaria, Nigeria was completed last month; now the hospital has solar electric lighting, six new walkie-talkies, and a solar-powered blood bank refrigerator. The operating room is equipped with overhead lighting and a suction machine, and the Team reports that the new set up is "fantastic."

History:

WE CARE Solar originally designed a photovoltaic system to power lighting, medical equipment, a blood bank refrigerator, and communication equipment in a major municipal hospital in Northern Nigeria. They installed this system in early 2009.
