CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) is used to support premature babies and sick infants whose lungs need pressurized air to stay inflated. Conventional CPAP uses cylinders of compressed gases that are often too expensive or simply unavailable in low-income countries. The Diamedica solution utilizes atmospheric air – a free and inexhaustible resource – to generate the necessary oxygen and air and enable CPAP treatment to save the lives of sick babies. You can see a recent video of this new product in action in Kenya on the front page of Diamedica's website.
