- a measuring device to determine postpartum blood loss (calibrated drape)
- WHO Colour Scale to detect anemia

- DVD on how to manage postpartum hemorrhage
Obstetric Kit Users
The Maternova kit is designed for trained or skilled midwives and birth attendants. It is specifically focused on preventing death from postpartum hemorrhage. The obstetric kit is not a clean delivery kit-- it is a 'next generation' kit for skilled birth attendants.
Obstetric Kit Origins
The kit grew out of Maternova's original focus on tracking new tools and ideas for maternal health. After talking to dozens of nurses, midwives and others, we realized that they (you) wanted access to these tools, already bundled together. It is difficult for smaller NGOs and private facilities to interface with companies scattered around the world. It is even harder to buy in small volumes. So we buy the products, put them together in the paks and make it easy to purchase kits. We call it "microbundling aid."
The kit is designed to stuff in a suitcase or a backpack. It is also designed to fold out and hang like a toiletry bag, displaying the key Active Management of the Third Stage of Labor steps as a reminder.
We are also selling a simpler version of this kit, the POWER PAK, which is just the hat, headlamp and rotary phone charger. This power pak is just $20 and is appropriate for any community health worker or other health professional.

This pak is focused on preventing postpartum hemorrhage. It contains a simple set of simple tools to stuff in a suitcase or backpack. The tools in this pak are meant to be used in addition to a standard midwifery kit. The kit includes the following:

• light: a solar powered headlamp with adjustable visor to see births
• a calibrated drape to measure blood loss (this can be sterilized with bleach but is not
autoclavable)
• WHO Colour Scale to detect anemia (comes with 200 test strips)
• Reminder Cards on the Active Management of the Third Stage of Labor
