Vaccinations in very remote parts of the world rely on solar powered refrigerators to store the vaccine in. Naps’ Camel Fridge is one of the world's leading solar electricity vaccine refrigerators.   Over 1500 have been sold to aid the World Health Organisation's and UNICEF’s global programmes for vaccination. The name 'Camel Fridge' originates from a special project in Africa where we developed a unique, truly mobile solar electricity refrigerator. Most vaccine refrigerators are used in rural health centers. It is important to know that the camel application of this universal power pack is just one of many places the universal power pack can be used.

Emergency Needs and Refugee Camps

The benefits of Naps’ solar electricity are particularly pronounced in emergency applications. The system is designed for immediate operation in emergency cases. The Naps Universal Power Pack is pre-assembled at the factory and can be installed in just four hours.

As there is no need for fuel – except daylight – the critical electricity supply does not fail. Nor is there any noise nor smell or fire hazard. Another great benefit is that the entire system can be quickly moved to a new location thanks to easy dismantling and installation.

The system can supply power for VHF radios, lighting and other appliances needed in emergency or refugee areas.

Naps has supplied more than 1500 solar vaccine refrigerators world-wide. For example in many camps UNHCR has used the Naps Universal Power Pack and UNICEF has used the Naps Vaccine Refrigerator System because they require very little site preparation.
