The Grameen Foundation's AppLab is working in Ghana on a 'Mobile Midwife' project. They are working with all of the Community Health Clinics in one district of the Upper East region in Ghana (Kassena Nankana West district). There are 11 community health clinics, covering 65 communities and a total population of about 30, 000. There will also be a control district (Kassena Nankana District) which has 13 clinics. The initial goals of the project are to create an open, flexible mHealth system that allows all registered families in the intervention area to call in and receive advice from the Mobile Midwife.
