Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-specific disease that can progress to Eclampsia and result in seizure, coma and mortality mortality as well as neonatal death. PE is a major cause of prenatal and maternal death worldwide, yet to date there are no reliable diagnostics or biomarkers that can accurately predict the onset of PE.
