International Synergy Group, LLC, in partnership with MedWeb are developing an opensource mHealth platform- Midwives Connect- to connect midwives in Afghanistan with each other, and with supervisors at central clinics. The (Interactive Voice Response) IVR system allows the midwives to collect information and report it: deliveries performed, the number of patients seen, deaths, etc. This data can then be aggregated to create nuanced pictures of the maternal health ecosystem in Afghanistan. The project is partnering with the Afghan Ministry of Health.
