IV flow controller

Still In Development Last Update: August 30, 2010

Acuset IV Flow Controller (Medicine Mondiale, NZ) and Design that Matters: designed specifically for resource-poor settings. This IV flow controller for low-resource settings allows novices (including patients' families) to set the flow rate far more accurately than the current roller clamps.

The Problem
The traditional "roller clamp" used to administer Intravenous fluids and medicines is not intuitive to use and due to it's highly sensitive adjustment mechanism, medical staff have difficulty in maintaining accurate infusion rates.
In the developing world, particularly in crisis situations, patients are often left to treat themselves.
The under administration of medicines such as antibiotics results in increased rates of patient morbidity while over administration of potent hypnotic and chemotherapy drugs may result in death.

The Solution
The Medicine Mondiale Acuset TM flow controller is intuitive to use even by relatively untrained operators.
The Acuset's Patented dial-a -flow mechanism allows flow rates to be set with a high degree of accuracy and precision improving patient safety and making every dollar spent on healthcare stretch further.
The Medicine Mondiale Acuset Intravenous Flow controller has the potential to save millions of lives and improve the quality of clinical care in almost every clinical discipline throughout the developing world.
