Still In Development Last Update: January 11, 2013

Boston Children's Hospital has submitted a proposal to Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development to test the prototype of a solar powered LED phototherapy unit for treating jaundice. The prototype uses small, high intensity LED bulbs, originally developed for accent lighting in cars! The team wants the device to be lightweight, totally solar powered, and inexpensive.

Maternova will keep track of this exciting new technology!
